Open House: Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle

Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle at Jefferson School City Center, 233 4th St NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903

Celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, Literacy Volunteers has been serving adult learners pursuing English literacy in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area since 1983. Over time, the majority of students whom LVCA served became speakers of other languages. Volunteer tutors are the foundation of its programs, allowing Literacy Volunteers to offer free, one-on-one English literacy tutoring. Combined with citizenship support services like civics classes, LVCA serves hundreds of students each year and has helped many on their path to citizenship.

Stop by LVCA's open house at the Jefferson School to enjoy coffee and snacks, tour the tutoring and library spaces, meet staff, and learn how you can get involved in serving your community!
